Varnum data privacy and litigation attorney John Rolecki has been named to the Privacy Bar Section Advisory Board for the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the world’s largest information privacy organization.
Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a not-for-profit association committed to providing a forum for privacy professionals to share best practices, track trends, advance privacy management issues, standardize the designations for privacy professionals and provide education and guidance on opportunities in the field of information privacy. The Advisory Board helps IAPP in its mission to define, promote and improve the privacy profession globally.
Rolecki is a partner in Varnum’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice. His practice includes advising leading technology companies on emerging domestic and international data privacy regulations, as well as in connection with data breach responses and ransomware situations. He helps clients identify strategies and create solutions to issues arising from the intersection of new technologies and established regulatory frameworks.
A CIPP/US certified information privacy professional, Rolecki regularly provides proactive counseling to clients in matters including compliance audits, the development of data breach response plans and related crisis management strategy pertaining to cybersecurity and ransomware risks.
Rolecki is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and holds a master’s degree in bioethics from University of Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree.
