Varnum partner Julia Perkins has been named to the Board of Directors of Girls Rock Detroit, a nonprofit community organization that provides a variety of music opportunities for girls and women.
Perkins is a family law attorney working with clients in divorce, child custody, child support and parenting time matters. She has unique experience with international custody cases, international abduction cases and valuation and division of high net worth marital estates. She serves as the chair of Varnum’s Family Law Practice.
Perkins is also a dedicated music enthusiast who performs in the band The Analog Dogs. She was drawn to Girls Rock Detroit “because of its commitment and mission to empower young women with the gift of music, and because of GRD’s belief that someone’s socio-economic background should not hinder them from having access to musical instruments and education.”
Girls Rock Detroit is a community organization dedicated to fostering creative expression, positive self-esteem and community awareness for girls, women, gender expansive, and transgender people through music education and performance.
