Varnum is pleased to announce Timothy D. Kroninger has joined the firm’s intellectual property team. He is based in the firm’s Detroit office.
Kroninger is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on patent and trademark prosecution, trade secret law, copyright law, licensing, franchising, and other transactional and due diligence work. He is experienced with drafting utility and design patent applications, patentability and clearance opinions, preparing federal and state trademark registration applications, and participating in USPTO trademark opposition proceedings.
In addition to his practice, Kroninger serves as the supervising attorney for the University of Detroit Mercy College of Law’s Trademark and Entrepreneur Clinic, instructing law students on the effective protection of client trademarks, filing copyright registrations, forming business entities and drafting corporate documents.
Kroninger is a summa cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Michigan State Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, graduating with High Honor and Honors College distinctions.
