Varnum attorney Matt Zimmerman has joined the Board of Directors for A Mother’s Touch, a nonprofit providing a substance-free, sober living program for single women with minor children whose lives are impacted by substance use and other life barriers. He is serving the board as secretary.
Zimmerman is a senior member of the Varnum’s Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources Practice Team. He represents municipal and private clients in a wide variety of projects including land use, solid waste management, zoning, brownfield redevelopment, water law matters and remediation of contaminated real estate. He frequently represents developers of renewable energy projects regarding permitting and contracting. Zimmerman is a long-time volunteer for West Michigan Christian Legal Aid (Mel Trotter Ministries). He additionally serves on the Board of Trustees for Pierce Cedar Creek Institute for Environmental Education and for Beacon Hill at Eastgate Retirement Community.
