Varnum partner Mike Wooldridge has been named to the West Michigan Dealmakers Hall of Fame by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business. Wooldridge was selected by a five-member independent judging panel including deal attorneys and M&A advisors. For more than 35 years, Wooldridge has represented many of the community’s best known private and publicly traded companies in their most significant deals as well as other representation.
“This award recognizes your career body of work and the indelible mark you’ve made on the M&A market in our region,” stated Crain’s Grand Rapids Business Editor Joe Boomgaard. Wooldridge will be formally recognized at the 2024 M&A Deals and Dealmakers Awards on March 28.
A partner on the firm’s Corporate Practice Team, Wooldridge has served as a trusted advisor to many of West Michigan’s most respected businesses. He represents several of the firm’s clients whose securities are traded publicly, advising officers and directors on strategic and general business law issues, governance and compliance matters, executive compensation, disclosure requirements and corporate structure. He has managed and led a variety of public equity and debt offerings for financial services and manufacturing companies. He is also active in advising clients in venture capital transactions.
Wooldridge is recognized by numerous attorney ranking organizations including The Best Lawyers in America®, Top Lawyers and Leading Lawyers. In 2012 he was one of just four Michigan attorneys named to the BTI Consulting list of Client Service All Stars.
Wooldridge served on Varnum’s Policy Committee for several years, including as Chair in 2006 and 2007, and has served as a mentor to numerous attorneys on the Corporate Practice Team. Within the community, he serves as secretary on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids and as Chair of its Governance Committee.
Wooldridge was profiled in the March 14 edition of Crain’s Grand Rapids Business. The West Michigan Deals and Dealmakers event is set for March 28 at the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids.
