Varnum recently welcomed Justin A. Allen, Jailah D. Emerson, Jordan C. Giles, Tuo (Paul) Wang, William J. Whalen and Yezi (Amy) Yan to the firm. All six previously served as summer associates at Varnum.
Justin A. Allen is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School where he served as managing editor of Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law. He attended Michigan State University James Madison College for his undergraduate degree in Political Theory & Constitutional Democracy, Social Relations & Policy. He will be based in the Grand Rapids office.
Jailah D. Emerson graduated cum laude from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where she served as managing editor of Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University. She will be based in the firm’s Detroit office.
Jordan C. Giles graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law. She received her undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and Philosophy. She will be based in the Ann Arbor office.
Tuo (Paul) Wang is a graduate of New York University School of Law where he served as article selection editor for NYU Law Review of Social Change. He received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Philosophy and Political Science. He will be based in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
William J. Whalen is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School where he was the articles editor for the Journal of International and Comparative Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Economics. He will be based in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
Yezi (Amy) Yan is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she served as executive editor of The Journal of Business Law. She received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoake College where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics and Psychology. She will be based in the Grand Rapids office.
